Mix the preservative with moderately warm water, in the proportion advised on the package. Even though the box has floral foam, you must keep the water level high to achieve long lasting flowers.

Remove foliage that is going to fall under the water level in your vase. Every other day cut again stem bottoms 1/2". The fresh cut controls good water uptake through the flower stem.
