Cut flower care instructions
Check vase water level almost every day. Add water with flower food as necessary. If the water becomes cloudy, change the entire vase water with clean preservative water. Remove foliage that will fall under the water line in your vase. Almost every day re cut stem bottoms half inch. This guarantees good water uptake through the flower stem.
Make sure that the liner, container or vase are filled with fresh water. For better results, you should use floral preservative, if you have one. Mix it with lukewarm water, in the proportion suggested on the case. Even though the box has floral foam, you should keep the water level high to support long lasting flowers.
Wedding flowers
If you want to save some money on flowers for wedding use blooms that are in season, ready and available. They cost less than flowers that are out of season. You should consider that all flowers cost more during the month of February because of Valentine's Day.
Modern wedding centerpieces are the perfect way to establish the theme of your wedding. The basic idea that works well for wedding centerpieces is to submerge the whole flower in water. This can be tried with roses, cymbidium orchids and tulips.
Sympathy flowers
Sympathy plants and sympathy roses are traditionally sent to the mortuary, funeral home or church. Most funeral homes, churches and mortuaries have a viewing, wake or visitation where friends and associates come to pay their respects. Proper sympathy flower etiquette is to send sympathy flowers or sympathy baskets to the funeral home, mortuary or church prior to the first visitation hours.
Wreaths are Proper for delivery to the church, funeral home or mortuary. These beautiful wreaths are displayed on a stand and make beautiful presentation.
